2021년 10월 1일 – 2일 양일간2021 International Conference of Korea Dementia Association (IC-KDA 2021)가 Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul에서 오프라인과 온라인으로 동시에 진행되었습니다. IC-KDA 2021는, 총 6개의 scientific session 과 4개의 plenary lecture, 그리고 양 일간의 luncheon symposium 과 poster session으로 구성 되어, 참가자 들이 다양한 최신 지견을 듣고 토론할 수 있는 기회를 갖도록 하였습니다. 각 세션은 이번 학술대회의 전체 주제인 “Current and Future in Dementia”의 개념을 바탕으로, neuroimaging, neuroinflammation, vascular contribution to cognitive impairment and dementia, neuropsychology, Blood based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, Public health and epidemiology의 6 세션으로 구성하였고, 각각의 세션을 대표하는 해외 석학을 초빙하여 4개의 plenary lecture를 마련하여, Alzheimer’s disease (AD)를 비롯한 치매 질환들에 대해 최근 주목받고 있는 주요 연구성과들을 다양한 각도에서 바라볼 수 있도록 하였습니다. 학회는 이틀간 진행되었습니다. 첫 날 아침, 학회를 시작하기 직전 해금 연주를 통해 학회의 시작을 알렸는데, 학회장을 가득 채우는 낯설지만 아름다운 한국적인 선율에 외국 참가자들뿐만이 아니라 자리를 함께 한 모든 참가자들의 마음이 한데 모이고, 학회에 대한 기대를 한껏 고조시키는 시간이 되었습니다.
